Years later, a diver discovered Olivia. Captivated by her beauty, he gently opened her shell and marveled at the exquisite pearl inside. Carefully, he removed it, leaving Olivia unharmed. The pearl found a new home, set on his mantle next to a picture of his wife.  He had always called her His Pearl of Great Price, as a term of endearment of how much he treasured her.

But Olivia’s true treasure wasn’t gone. She carried the memory of her journey—a lesson etched not in the pearl itself, but in the space where it once rested. She shared her story with young oysters, teaching them that they are not alone in their struggles. The Mother of Pearl watches over them, turning life’s irritations into something extraordinary—not just for beauty, but for protection, growth, and grace.

And so, the pearl became more than a gem. It was a symbol of unseen strength, a quiet reminder that even when we feel small, we are wrapped in layers of resilience, crafted by forces greater than ourselves.
